The Problem With Pajamas...

...is they make me sad.  For some reason, pajamas seem like measuring sticks of life to me.  They change as you grow.  We start off in sweet little baby gowns, move through footie pajamas, on to little girl princess gowns, then boxers/tshirts or pajama pants/tshirts as teens, on to sexy stuff before kids, back to pants/shirts after kids (LOL!), and in the end we wind up in old grandma gowns that go to the floor (I'm picturing flannel...lots of ruffles...and itching).  Ever thought about it before?  Pajamas mark the stages of our lives.

The reason for my sad state?  Carson has moved up in a pajama stage.  We bought her new summer pajamas last week.  Although they are ADORABLE, it still brings a little tear to my eyes :(  Another reminder that my baby is growing too fast.

Her new pj's bring me right back to those first weeks with her...her sweet, cuddly, smelling-good little gowns.  Ohhhh how I love those!  It makes my arms ache to hold my teeny tiny newborn.

Then on to footies...most of ours were animal footies and they were adorable.  Sadly, they are in a box marked "3-6 months" in the attic now.  Sniff, sniff!

From there it was on to the simple, easy onesies.  Love those too...so easy!

Then winter came and we went to a two piece pajama with long sleeves...still fitted so they looked more like the footies, just without the feet.  They are next in line to go to the box labeled "12 -18 months".  Soooooo sad. I'm holding out on a trip to the attic until I need the drawer space.  Lets me hold on just a little longer...

Our new pajamas are still two piece, but with short sleeves.  Not a big deal, right?  Wrong...  The pants are like mini pajama pants with wide legs!  OMG!  Like big girl pajama pants!  It's like I took mine and shrunk them.  Like I said, they ARE cute as can be, but my baby looks like a little person in them.  Where did my baby go?!!!

Here are our new, cuddly and cute, cute, cute pajamas.  I bought them a little big so they'll last a while and I won't have to deal with this feeling for a few more months! :)

Our new camera poser :)  She "gets" the camera now and says, "Cam!" and poses.  You have to be quick though, because the smile and the head tilt to one side last only a second and she's on to playing again.

Crawling into her big girl bed.

A sweet cuddle with her "baby" all wrapped up in a blanket.
(P.S. - The baby is actually her stuffed puppy dog.)

Sound asleep in the traditional position...arms tucked, hiney UP :)

Can't resist a couple more that show off her jammies really well.  Not the best head shots, but the jammies are cute, no? :)  See what I mean about the pants?

(Check out the curled toes in this next one!)
