Gimme S'More!!!

Aunt Sarah joined us for dinner tonight and made dessert…YUMMY S’MORES!!! Both of us were excited to share the warm, messy, gooey goodness with Carson (AND with John…Can you believe he’s NEVER eaten a s’more before tonight??????? Judy……….what’s up with that?!)

I’m pretty sure our pictures will speak for themselves. :)

To explain the following two photos...

Lately, Carson has been loving the Happy Birthday song.  Whenever she sees a candle or fire, a cake, or anything resembling these two things, she starts swaying back and forth and singing "berrrdaaayyyy!!!"  When she's having a meltdown (after all, she IS nearly TWO years old...yes, we do have meltdowns!) or if she needs to calm down about something, the Happy Birthday song is a winner these days.

Sooooo....she thought the s'mores were birthday cakes and requested the song.  The next pic is one of her blowing out the "candle" (even though there isn't one!) after we've sung Happy Birthday to You!  The pic after that is of her clapping and saying, "Yay!" after the song and the blowing out of the "candles".  So silly!  Wonder if we'll have any issues when it really IS her birthday in only four short months (oh MY!)

Hmmmmmmm.....gooey!

Carson doesn't really like to EAT chocolate...but she's not opposed to playing in it!  The proof is in these next few pics.  She LOVED making a big ol' chocolately MESS!

Really getting into it now!

The end result..........
Thank you, Daddy, for cleaning it up!

As soon as I declared an end to the s'more fun...Carson decided to take an actual bite out of a s'more.  This is the only bite she had I think!

You know where we're headed...........

She thought she was very funny :)  I agree.  Hehe!

Also, another cute story from today. Carson, as we all know very well, is utterly in love with Blue’s Clues. Today, Carson was watching an episode of BC’s entitled “Anatomy”. Steve and Blue were discussing a stethoscope and heartbeats. Suddenly, Carson jumps up and RUNS to the back of the house. We (Sarah and I) thought she just must have lost interest in television and went in search of a boredom buster of some kind. She returned quickly with Daddy’s Mama’s Bose ear buds. (I mention the brand because John is none too happy that she keeps locating his hiding spots for our “good” ear buds. She loves ear buds so much that she has ruined more than one pair…oops.) So, she returns to the living room with the ear buds and sits back down in front of the t.v. and begins to try to place the buds in her ears. She was actually successful in doing so and then went up to Sarah & placed the metal end of the buds to Sarah’s heart. OH MY GOODNESS!!! She thought (or maybe wanted to pretend???) those ear buds were a stethoscope!

Even more cuteness later when Sarah starts to leave… Carson starts saying, “ste-soap! Ste-soap!” Huh??? I’d never heard this word from her and had no clue. But she was pointing to the back bedroom. Suddenly it dawns on us… “Ste-soap” = STETHOSCOPE! Sooooo adorable! After Sarah left, Carson “played doctor” with the ste-soap and Daddy. Daddy even taught her how to feel a forehead and say “fever” (= “feva!”) I smell a Christmas gift in this little pretend play :)

"Dada, feva?"  CUTE!

Tomorrow (Wednesday) is our allergist appointment! Please lift up a prayer that Carson will tolerate the two to three hour appointment, that she isn’t uncomfortable after her pricks, and that we’ll get some answers from the allergist. Love to you all!
